ABOUT ABOUT

Two Trainings for Different Audiences:
Crisis Intervention Training (CIT) for First Responders - 8am-12noon
Situational Awareness Training for First Line of Contact Personnel - 1pm-4pm

These trainings are being offered free to Alcona, Alpena, Montmorency, and Presque Isle County thanks to a SAMHSA grant Partners in Prevention currently has. We have had three successful trainings in Alpena County and recently completed this abridged version for smaller departments in Presque Isle County. Each training is conducted by a highly respected trainer, Dr. Kenneth Wolf.

In the morning, the Crisis Intervention Training (CIT) will teach techniques for first responders to de-escalate mental health crisis situations and offer helpful tools to use on mental health related calls. It is for keeping themselves and the person they are serving safe.

In the afternoon, the Situational Awareness Training (SAT) is for those in community facing jobs (court clerks, educators, customer service, HR, nursing, elder care, etc) who often work with individuals who may be experiencing a mental health challenge.
